What Grovia does for a business in Singapore

The tax engine is not a rate field bolted onto a template. It is cited to the legislation and shared by every document the platform prints.

GST that is actually computed

Every line carries its own rate and the totals are worked out for you. Set 0% where a supply is zero-rated or exempt and Grovia records which, because the two are not interchangeable at your year end.

GST Reg. No. validation

The GST registration number in its own right, not the UEN it resembles. Grovia checks the shape and stops there: a check character demonstrably exists, but no algorithm is officially published — IRAS's own instruction is to look the number up on uen.gov.sg — and the weights circulating online are unofficial reverse-engineering.

Invoices that carry what the law asks for

A sequential number, both parties' details, your GST Reg. No., the rate and amount per line and the tax total — the particulars the GST (General) Regulations 1993 sets out, printed without you assembling them.

Nothing is assumed from an address

A customer being overseas does not make a supply zero-rated, and Grovia never pretends otherwise. Place of supply turns on facts software cannot see, so the decision stays yours and the record shows you made it.

The rest of the business, same platform

Clients, quotes, projects, tasks, staff, payroll, expenses, support tickets and field visits. The invoice is the end of a workflow that already lives here, not an export into something else.

On the phone as well

Grovia Chat for the team, Grovia Field for people on site with GPS check-ins and photo reports, and GroAI for asking your own numbers a question in plain English.

Working today

  • GST at the standard rate, applied per line item
  • Tax invoices carrying the particulars enumerated in Regulation 11
  • GST registration numbers validated by format, in both the alphanumeric and the older numeric shapes
  • Quotes, credit notes, purchase orders and receipts in Singapore dollars
  • Zero-rated and exempt lines, when you set them — never guessed from a customer's address, because section 21(3)(j) turns on where the benefit accrues rather than where the customer is

Invoices are issued citing Regulation 11 of the Goods and Services Tax (General) Regulations 1993, made under the Goods and Services Tax Act 1993.

Not handled yet — worth knowing before you sign up

We would rather you read this now than find it after you have paid. If any of the below is central to how you bill, Grovia is not the right fit for that part of your work yet.

No regulation number on credit notes

Grovia prints the right fields on a credit note but cites no regulation, on purpose. Regulation 12 is the one that looks right and is not: it governs only credit notes arising from a rate change or a section 39B election. An ordinary commercial credit note's field list is IRAS administrative guidance, not a numbered provision, so there is nothing honest to print.

Simplified tax invoices

Regulation 13 permits a shorter invoice where the total including tax is S$1,000 or less. Grovia always issues the full form. That is valid, just longer than it needs to be for small sales — and the simplified form has its own constraints, so it is not simply a shorter template.

InvoiceNow

Grovia does not send or receive on the Peppol network. InvoiceNow is voluntary today and IRAS has published phases from 2028 onwards, with the enabling legislation for those expressly not yet enacted. We will build it against the final rules rather than against an announcement.

Singapore dollar totals on foreign-currency invoices

Regulation 11(1)(k) requires an amount in another currency to also be expressed in Singapore dollars. Grovia bills in your own currency and does not yet print the Singapore dollar figure alongside it.
